For this tutorial, let's say I'm a little bored with the theme on my Creativity Factory blog, so I've decided to change it.
It's super-easy to change the themes on a WordPress blog - you just upload a new theme to your site, and you're done.
Here's the theme I've chosen. It has the look I want. This is a commercial theme, not free, but the Creativity Factory is one of my primary blogs, so it's worth paying for just the look I want. (There are many, many great free WordPress themes, and when you're starting out, choose free themes until you're sure of what you want to accomplish with a blog. Do a Google search for "free Word Press theme" and you'll find hundreds of great themes.
Once I've downloaded the theme, the next step is to upload it to my site, using an FTP program. FileZilla is free, if you don't already have an FTP program. In the screen shot above, you can see the theme on my desktop, and the WP Themes directory on my site.
Once you've uploaded the theme, you just need to activate your new theme in your WordPress Dashboard.
Click the Presentation tab, and you'll see your current theme.
Just scroll down, and you'll see your new theme. Click, to activate it.
There we go - the new theme's now activated, and live on the blog.
