How to create a Squidoo lens - create your own Web page in a few simple steps

New to Squidoo? Squidoo is a phenomenon. It allows you to make complete one-page Web sites, and make money with them, completely for free.
Visit Squidoo and sign up - it's free
Your first step is to visit Squidoo and sign up.
Once you've signed up, click the "Create a Lens" button - the big orange one.
Choose a topic for your lens
Sites on Squidoo are called lenses. Choose a topic for your lens. You can make a lens about anything you choose.
If you're a writer, a good topic for your first lens is YOU - you can sell your writing services from your lens.
Or just make a lens on a topic which fascinates you, from apples to zebras. :-)

Choose whether you want a pre-fab lens, or a DIY one
In this step, choose "I just want to do my own thing" - the pre-fab lenses are filled with modules you may never use.
Pick a title for your lens, and a URL
Next, enter a title, complete the URL (Web address), category and rating. All this is pretty straightforward.
Oops! What if someone else has the URL you want?
Occasionally, you'll find that your preferred name for your lens has been taken. Not a problem - just add another word. In this case I added "fast".
Add keywords to help people to find your lens
Enter some keywords (you can add more later), and enter the CAPTCHA word, which is designed to foil spammers. It proves you're a real live human.
Our new lens has been created
When you get to this step, your new lens is all done, and is ready for you to add content. You can hit the PUBLISH button now if you like, and see your lens live on the Web.
Edit your lens
Editing your lens is easy. Just click the Edit button.
Hit the PUBLISH button!
In our next tutorial, we'll be having fun with our lens, but for the moment, just hit the Publish button so that your lens is live.
